The
Kona Coast is one of the premier fishing destinations in the world.
With the fishing grounds merely a t-shot off the shore, you can be
fishing within minutes of casting off. The Big Island of Hawaii has
50 miles of leeward coastline forming what I refer to as "God's Pond" without
a doubt the calmest big game waters in the world. The location of
the Big Island places you right in the middle of the migration routes
taken by the Pacific Blue Marlin as they follow the schools of Skipjack
Tuna through the island chain.
Kona offers a year-round fishery with Blue, Black
and Striped Marlin landed almost every day of the year. For those
of you traveling to Kona for big game fishing, summer months are
best. From June through September, we take in the largest numbers
of our yearly big game catch. Men, women and children, whether they
are novices or world-class anglers, can fish with great success.
Our client Mike Banks, on his very first morning of deep sea fishing,
landed Sea Genie II's largest Blue Marlin to date, weighing 1,144
pounds. We pride ourselves on sharing our knowledge and techniques
of the sport with our clients.
